What will you do?

Design, implement and manage test automation solutions to assure high quality levels in software for release, with exposure to all aspects of the automated testing discipline for large and complex applications, including mobile applications. You will also have responsibility for manual test development and management of the testing team. Key responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day testing of desktop, Web and Mobile applications
  • Management of daily release/regression testing priorities within the Support Team
  • Maintenance and ownership of testing processes
  • Test Impact Analysis – identifying where to focus testing effort
  • Extend CUIT/manual test coverage – identifying critical product areas lacking coverage
  • Test failure trend analysis
  • Reporting of test results to senior management

Tech and methods we work with

All our teams work within Agile/Scrum and collaborate closely across departments.

Development teams use Visual Studio, .NET, C#, SQL Server, Azure, ASP.Net, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, Microservices architecture, Xamarin, .NET Core and Docker.

Our infrastructure engineers work with Azure IaaS/PaaS, Windows Server/Desktop, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint/Office 365, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Hyper-V, SQL Server, and Load Balancing/Clustering.

Requirements

Preferably 3+ years’ experience covering manual testing and automation with exposure to all aspects of the testing discipline for large and complex applications, including mobile applications, ideally gained within a commercial software development environment.

Strong database skills including SQL; basic C# coding skills for test automation development; exposure to Agile methodology; knowledge and experience of Azure DevOps; proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and AJAX would be beneficial.

Undergraduate degree in Computing Science or similar to min. 2:1 from a leading university; excellent ‘Highers’/’A Levels’ or equivalent. Excellent written and spoken English essential.

On a day-to-day basis, you will perform hands-on testing across all applications but with additional responsibility for management of the testing team and processes, and reporting to senior management. Previous experience of a team lead role would therefore be preferable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Nice to have

Microsoft Professional Certifications; ISTQB Expert (Test Automation) Certification; team lead experience.
